The Lord richly blessed our day and we look forward to a week of working in our barrio, Villa Ortuzar!
This morning, the team got an early start in Villa Ortuzar. We divided into teams and prayer-walked the barrio. Even though it is little more than 1 kilometer by 1 kilometer, it still takes a great deal of walking to cover the streets. As many prayers were expressed over the barrio, several spiritual conversations also occurred.
After lunch, we returned to a park in the barrio, plaza 25 de Agosto. (or as Wayne likes to call it, twenty-five de August) At 3 PM we started to sign up individuals and families for the free Bible raffle. By 5:30, we had 28 signed up for the Bible, and wouldn’t you know it, number 28 won! The family was very excited and Lupe’s team will be meeting with them tomorrow to discuss why they were interested in the Bible as a bridge to the gospel.
After the time at the park, we went to the hotel, where our translators started to call the families who signed up for the Bible. So far, 12 have responded with interest in a follow-up visit from our team, which is an answer to prayer.
Tonight, we enjoyed some excellent Argentine pizzas and helado (ice-cream). Bedtime is coming soon as we look forward to what God will do through us tomorrow.
Pray for our appointments this week. For those who are not believers, that they will be responsive to the gospel. For those who we have met before, that they become interested in joining together in a Bible study that will lead to a house church. Pray also for our safety and continued good health and weather.
